2014 East HS graduate Cara Bender sings the new Corning-Painted Post HS Alma Mater at the August 13th 2014 Board of Education meeting. The new Alma Mater was composed by William Carlson. A committee of faculty, staff, students and parents reviewed eight submissions before choosing two finalists.

The two finalist submissions were voted on by music students at East and West high schools in the spring of 2014, winner being Mr. Carlson's submission.

The Board of Education approved the Alma Mater at the August 13th meeting. The committee and students did not know who the composers were during the process. The committee met three times as it went through each selection and hearing recordings performed by chorus students.
